Scavenger Hunt Week 4 (sorry it's late)

Hi all. I know you were all up late last night anticipating this week's addition to the blog from yours truly, but tbh, I completely forgot about the homework. Here it is, I would really appreciate some credit for my efforts.

This first photo is a picture of a lichen discovered on a tree. It should be noted that all of this week's pictures were taken in Serenbe. I'm not sure if that helps or hurts me. Anyway, a lichen is a simple, slow-growing plant that forms a crusty growth on rocks and trees.

This mushroom is a basidiomycete. Basidiomycetes are more commonly known as club fungi because of their club like shape where the spore develops at the end of the shaft.

This tree out in the woods is an autotroph. Really, every plant is an autotroph because an autotroph is any organism that produces its own food.

This friendly box turtle is a keystone species because he is native to Georgia. He was very nice and liked to play.

This mushroom was developed through asexual reproduction. Asexual reproduction occurs when a species possesses both sex cells.

That's all for this week. Thanks everyone.
